Worked in and around the industry for 40 years with the last 20+ years focussed on people and skills management for digital, data & IT and developing high performing people and organisations. Working with large and small employers - operating in the UK and globally.
As part of the collaborative leadership team at the not-for-profit SFIA Foundation, I lead the development and stewardship of this globally adopted skills framework for software engineering, digital, data, technology and cybersecurity professionals. With experience spanning both technical and organizational development roles over 40 years, Peter has supported the SFIA global community since 2003.
I also lead global volunteer and community activities with the global SFIA Council and the global SFIA User Forum.
I have served the SFIA community as Lead Editor and Project Manager for updates to SFIA, including SFIA version 9 (published in 2024), SFIA 8 (published 2021), and SFIA 7 (published 2018). Establishing and improving editorial and framework maintenance practices including translations into 11 languages. I contributed content for earlier versions of the framework.
My career path brings practical perspective to skills framework implementation, having started as an Analyst/Programmer and Team Leader for software development projects before moving into business analysis and consulting and then workforce development roles. This blend of technical understanding and organizational development experience has informed my approach to supporting organizations as they adopt skills and competency frameworks to support both employers and employees.
